I've been playing osu!taiko on and off for about 3 years now. It's my favorite non-dance rhythm game and I'm still having fun improving in the game. My long term goals are to be a competitive tournament player and FC Galaxy Collapse, but I'm not in any rush to get there. For now, I just like pushing my current abilities and setting cool scores.

Over the past year or so I've been posting my session highlights to my gaming twitter, but as I've played around with the site I've decided that it's not good for me as an archive of my progress and achievements. So, I'll now be posting it all here along with the rest of my writing works because I said so.

Instead of just mass exporting all my scorepost tweets, I'll use this post to highlight my current favorite scores grouped by category

Rhythm Scores

These are my favorite kind of charts to play in Taiko. Switching between 1/3rds and 1/4ths and 1/6ths will never get old to me.

This one has a lot of rhythm mixups.

If you know this song, you know exactly how tricky the rhythms are. Great acc and FC.

Not as hard as the highest diff in the mapset, but good acc nonetheless.

The D in the song's title stands for Doubles (and quads). Lots of uncommon patterns here that I mostly got.

One of my best scores on a chart with a lot of tricky 1/6ths. It's a rhythm I particularly struggle with, so being able to pull this off was a great accomplishment.

Speeeeeeeed

At the end of the day, rhythm games require you to hit buttons fast.

First one is a osu trainer practice diff. I find sped up oni's harder than regular high bpm oni's, so this was a nice score.

This map could belong in 3 different categories. Weird SV changes, rhythm changes, and top 240 bpm. Great pass.

This is basically a farm map, but got decent acc so it's here.

Lot's of 1/3rds here alond with being 230bpm. Good acc.

4 minutes of 220-230bpm streams. At my level getting through this is a stamina challenge.

Accuracy

Here's a collection of plain difficult maps that I got relatively good accuracy on.

My best score by far. Death streams are my 2nd weakest skillset, and this score hit most of them along with a 1miss on the ending section. This score was also a complete surprise because I was struggling to get about 95 on my practice diffs.

Good acc on a map with tricky patterns.

One of my favorite maps. I used to consider a 98 on this map from a year ago as my best score. I improved it last month to show off how much I've improved.

Passes

Not all scores are super great. It's all about the relative skill level. That means sometimes, just getting a pass is impressive in itself.

I hit all the streams in the first chrous and only missed twice in the second longer kiai section. Easily my best deathstream score.

Brutal 190 stream map. Keeping 96ish for 3 minutes is no easy feat.

Also one of my best weird rhythm scores. Tons of quads and 1/6ths patterns here along with a couple longer streams for good measure.

Another one of my best passes. I hit most of the longer streams and only missed hard on the 1/6th sections (expected cuz they're way too fast for me).

And that's all I got for now. There's a ton of other scores I did not include or forgot about. Might post about them later. I hope to make more entries about future sessions cuz it's fun to look back at what you accomplished and are progressing on.
