reading gaming
Hello, been a while. Been playing taiko fairly regularly, but I wanted to get back in the habit of making these posts because they are fun.
Been focusing mostly on learning hidden and long streams. I got my best HD pass today:

The acc and UR are incredibly scuffed, but the fact that I could 1 miss this reading stamina hell of a map with my worst mod is incredible for my standards. Very happy with this, well on my way to making my goal of getting a 250pp HD play.
But as always, I'm a sucker for trying to set cool plays on hard maps, and today I managed to get a couple. Here's the first:

I already had a 97.5 acc play on this map, which I thought was already one of my best 200bpm plays. Since I've been focusing on reading and acc (not so much 200bpm ish range), I thought that being able to top that old play was not for me. Well, it turns out, that reading and acc improve your higher bpm skills even when you don't specifically train those skills. Here's the twitch vod:

Second was a series of 3 plays on the following map:

With my previous personal best being a 95.3, I went to a 96, to a high 97, to a 98.5, all in a row. The map is mostly standard oni patterns, but there's a few 8 note patterns scattered around that used to really trip me up. And now, thanks to that aforementioned reading practice, I was able to hit (most) of them at 1x speed. Crazy. Here's the twitch vod:

That's about it for me. See y'all next time.
